| MetroBus painting at the Green Homes Festival in Grandel Square Saturday, Sept. 25 |
| TODAY, painting enthusiasts of any age can participate in Art in Transit's MetroBus Painting with artist Charles Houska at the Green Homes Festival in Grandel Square near Grand Center, Saturday, Sept. 25 from 10am - 6pm. Charles Houska is best known for his bold paintings of whimsical characters and colorful world. The bus's design is inspired by the mission of the bus' sponsor, Earthways Center of the Missouri Botantical Gardens, to promote sustainability through education and the built environment. The Green Homes Festival, sponsored by the Earthways Center and the Missouri Coalition for the Environment, is free and open to the public, and celebrates ways everyone can reduce energy costs and help the environment. The Festival includes how-to workshops, demonstrations, vendors, food and solar car racing and hands-on fun for children. Painting the MetroBus will begin in the morning, so arrive early to participate. Then stop by the Metro booth and find out how you can take transit to help reduce air pollution and support liveable, walkable communities. To get to the Green Homes Fesival, take the #70 Grand, #10 Gravois or #97 Delmar MetroBus or Grand MetroLink Station to Grandel Square. |
